May the Fourth be with you!

Sorry about that, but I couldn’t not do that joke. And yes, I do like Star Wars in case you were curious.

Anyhow, that month went by way too fast. I don’t know about you, but I’m not quite ready for May, but it’s here anyway. So, let’s make the best of it. I will say one good thing about May, I am so very glad that the weather is getting warmer. It’s nice to be able to walk out the door without immediately shivering.

April Update

Reading

• I know I said I’d beta read a story. Well, I didn’t touch it. I did read an entire book though. That was the first in a long time and it was quite nice. It was Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris. Really awesome book! I loved it.

Writing

• I did work on some editing. Most of it, but not all. Still, I am happy with what I did do. As for my plans for pitching and querying, those are gonna have to wait until at least another draft. I’m definitely closer though.

Miscellaneous

• I did get some sketching in. Quite happy with it too. So, finally I got a win on something for the month. Wahoo!
• Also, I went through some old markers and found four that were still good. Of course, I thought that I then had to color an artwork with just those four colors. I’m actually pretty happy with the end result.

Now, on to what I’m hoping to do in the month of May!

Reading

I won’t be doing much planned reading this month. Any fiction books I do read will most likely be for research regarding how best to write setting, especially early in the story.

Writing

I will continue editing. I should definitely have this round of edits done by the end of the month. Maybe a bit more if I’ve got the time.

My biggest project for this month will be to write a fanfic that has a three month deadline. Hopefully, it’ll be a pretty big fanfic and I’m gonna try and shoot for 50,000 words. It’s a choose your own adventure story, and I’ve never written one before. Eek!

Miscellaneous

Still gonna keep arting. It’s been really fun lately, sort of a nice pastime. Other than that, just try and keep up with life. We’ll see how well that goes.

Perhaps May will be a nice month. I’m looking forward to it at least. 😊
